Twenty-one deep sky objects, one 90 mm refractor

Captured and processed by David Biggs from a NexDome observatory in northern California, using an early version of BiggSky. Not a remote observatory, not a metre-class scope.

Why this matters more than a spec sheet

Every image here came off a 90 mm apochromatic refractor on a Vixen Great Polaris mount, guiding at 0.6 to 1.0 arc-seconds RMS, under the light pollution of the Sacramento area. The mount runs OnStep on a Teensy, the focuser is custom, and several parts are 3D printed.

The processing is the point. If the software only worked on data from a mountaintop, it would not be much use to anyone reading this.
